The ELLA Foundation founder and Executive Director Charity Lee will sign copies of her powerful new memoir How Now, Butterfly?: A Memoir of Murder, Survival, and Transformation. Published in January 2020, Lee’s book chronicles her incredible journey from grief-stricken parent -- following the violent murder of her four-year-old daughter, Ella, by her 13-year-old son, Paris -- to social-activist warrior and mental health advocate. Proceeds from the sale of the book will support The ELLA Foundation’s programming in Savannah, Ga. This event is free and open to the public. To learn more, visit ellafound.org.
ABOUT CHARITY LEE Charity Lee is the founder and executive director of The ELLA Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Savannah, Ga. A true survivor, she’s also the daughter of a murdered father, the mother of a murdered daughter and the mother of a murderer. A certified Crisis Interventionist, Anger Management Specialist, Theft Addiction Specialist and Seeking Safety facilitator, Lee has developed a number of evidence-based programs for anyone affected by violence.
